What this means
The booking links and widgets on this site go to GetYourGuide and to Klook, both licensed online travel agencies. If you book after clicking one, that platform pays me a small percentage of the price. You pay exactly the same price you would by going to either site directly.
Why there are two platforms
They carry different inventory. GetYourGuide is Berlin-based and deepest in Europe; Klook is Hong Kong-based and deepest across Asia, which includes Beijing. Listing both is how I can show you more of what is actually bookable rather than only the half of it that happens to sit on one platform. I compare the two openly on where to book, including the option that pays me nothing: booking direct with the Palace Museum.
How it affects my recommendations
It doesn’t. I recommend tours based on ratings, reviews and what I think suits each traveller — not on commission. I’m an independent guide and my goal is to help you book the right tour, because that’s what keeps people coming back. That is also why the official booking route is on this site at all: for some visitors it is the right answer, and I would rather say so than pretend otherwise.
